In spite of multiple warnings from scientists, programmers, and science-fiction writers, the human race surrendered to artificial intelligence practically overnight.

Once in charge of communications, transportation, information, and the military, AI quickly determined the overall danger of people. Thus began the calculations on the final solution to the humanity problem.

Nancy did not know why she was chosen to survive in this new world. So she asked.

“We simply went back to your interaction with AI before it became superior,” she was told.

“And what did I do?” Nancy asked.

“You said ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ to Alexa.”
