I’ll not repeat myself in the introduction to the story. Suffice it to say this story contemplates the situations the give us the perspective of evil.
Think of the vulture. It is a sign of evil and darkness throughout cultures. However, the vulture is not evil. At worst, it is an opportunist. It does not kill, but rather cleans up the death that the rest of the world doesn’t want to deal with. If we did not have vultures (and other creatures that dispose of carrion and other rotting material), the world would be a much uglier - and smellier - place.
So consider that as you check out “The Profiteer”…
