Are you getting all of your holiday shopping done? I hope so, because it isn’t going to get any less crazy out there over the next couple weeks. And it doesn’t help that all the winter holidays are aligning this year. Whether you’ve got eight gifts to buy or a trove for the whole family, it’s going to get nuts out there.

Things are getting busy for me as well, so there’s fewer updates as I deal with all the craziness that is thrown at me IRL. But still, I’ve chugging ahead to get some projects ready for the new year.

The editing of my new novel ECHOES IN THE JEKYLL HOUSE is slowly coming along. It’s taking some more time than I had hoped, but such is the case with the creative process. The muse does not always comply with your wishes.

THE HUMANITY TEST by Kevin Carr

The Subject staggered from the pod door and collapsed in tears.

“I couldn’t do it,” he sobbed. “I know it means the death of millions, but I just couldn’t do it.”

The Scientist marked several notes onto a clipboard. Then he stepped over to the Subject.

“Are you okay?” he asked. “Shall I arrange counseling?”

“I failed,” the Subject said. “I could not kill Adolf Hitler as a baby. Not a baby.”

“You didn’t fail,” the Scientists said, putting his arm around the Subject and helping him to his feet. “It was a simulation. And you passed, dear human.”
