Welcome to Tax Week! If you haven’t scheduled your yearly appointment with your CPA… you might just be going to jail. And what better use of your spare time in the slammer is by curling up next to your bunk, waiting for your toilet wine to ferment, whilst reading the wonderful fiction of yours truly.
My new thriller ECHOES IN THE JEKYLL HOUSE is making progress through editorial, and word has it that one of the editors was so into the story that they were distracted from looking for typos and misspellings. That’s a good thing for my author ego… but it also might need some patience from the readers if more errors slip through the cracks.
Another anthology of short stories is also on the horizon, with several stories already in the banks. This is just in the very early stages, but that’s coming around the pike.
Some personal issues IRL are gobbling up a lot of my time, but I’m still managing to get some work done on audiobooks and getting all the ducks in a row for my previously published works. Now, all I have to do is to get those ducks to stay in their row.
Don’t forget to check out my current list of audiobooks:
My zombie novelette NOT THE END is available from Audible and on Kindle. THE ORGAN GRINDER is on Kindle and audiobook, as well as my other novelettes FEEDING GROUNDS (on Kindle and audiobook) and BEDRIDDEN (on Kindle and audiobook).
Of course, all of my books are available through my Author’s Page on Amazon.
*99 Shots are complete stories, new each week, totaling 99 words or less.
Incentives by Kevin Carr
The humans had no idea how long they had been captives. Their memories were wiped before they woke up in the arena.
Here, there were limited resources, and many formed tribes for protection. It was their only help.
Until one person showed up, refusing to fight. This person shared resources with anyone who needed it and became known as The Aide.
Once, while helping an injured man, The Aide was killed.
“The Aide was helping me!” the injured man said.
“No one helped me!” the killer screamed, stealing The Aide’s food. Then, he spat: “You should have worked harder!”
