Just as 2025 began just a few short weeks ago, we are now entering the final week of January. Sadly, that means we have to deal with another Monday. But not-sadly, with that fact comes a new BlockHeadZ (I apologize for this one in advance), a new 99 Shot, and a new movie review.

I am continuing to plod along with the edits to my new novel THE ECHOES OF THE JEKYLL HOUSE. There was some IRL drama for me recently, so it resulted in a not-very-productive month of January. However, now that things are chugging along properly at the House of Carr, I should be seeing a significant uptick in efficiency.

Within the next few weeks, I will be starting production on the audiobook of MOVIE TRUTH: REAL ANSWERS TO REEL QUESTIONS, which is a fun look behind the reality of movies. It’s already available on Kindle with an upcoming paperback as well. We hope to have the audiobook ready to go this summer.

Also in the works soon will be A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BLOCKHEADZ, which is due out in August.

As the late, great Stan Lee used to say… Excelsior!

A LESSON IN WATER SPORTS by Kevin Carr

Brody sat on the edge of the boat in his SCUBA gear. His body swayed, capturing the rhythm of the ocean’s dance.

Then, he tumbled backwards into the waves and went deep to explore.

Beyond the coral, he found a hidden cave system. Swimming ever deeper into it, he suddenly realized where he was!

Above and below, multiple rows of jagged teeth closed in. Brody turned around and kicked furiously.

As the light disappeared from the closing mouth, Brody was reminded how little we know about the Deep… aside from almost everything down there wanting to eat us.
