LOOK BACK by Kevin Carr

Brandon held his daughter’s hand as she splashed through puddles. The night was cool after the rain, the perfect night as twilight settled on the country road.

He looked back, and in the distance were two figures hand-in-hand. Brandon could not recognize them, but he kept a watchful eye.

Behind him, a man strolled with his little girl. But he kept looking back to see two figures following him. He walked faster.

Behind them, a man walked with his daughter. He felt like they had been walking forever. But the little girl was happy to splash in the puddles.
