Before we start, let’s take a moment to remember those who have given their life for the betterment of our country. Thank all of the military members for their service.
Now, as we move into the summer, my focus is moving towards getting more backlogged projects out of the pipeline. And unlike the Chicago Sun-Times, we would like to offer a summer reading list that actually exists: Check out my collection of books available in Kindle, on paperback, and as audiobooks via Audible. We guarantee you every book listed has actually been written by a human.
ECHOES IN THE JEKYLL HOUSE is moving ahead, through the editorial logjam. It is still on track to be completed in the summer or early fall.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BLOCKHEADZ is also moving forward with new background copy and brand-new illustrations for the fans. Be ready to buy this one on Kindle and in paperback in time for the first anniversary of the BlockHeadZ in August.
My technothriller THEY HISS! is coming along nicely and should be available in 2025... just in time for Halloween!
Finally, the audiobook for GOBBLE: A THANKSGIVING TALE OF THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE is finally available on Audible. Or, if you have an Amazon Music Unlimited, you can ask your device, “Alexa, play GOBBLE by Kevin Carr,” to choose this as one of your free audiobooks for the month.
More to come!
*99 Shots are complete stories, new each week, totaling 99 words or less.
A Colour for the Ages by Kevin Carr
It was almost impossible to believe a new color was discovered: a lovely shade of violet that only took on unique properties when artificial light projected through it.
The announcement came more than a year after companies started embedding it into all flat screens – from phones to televisions – in a process known as “blasting heath.”
And more than a year later, independent researchers discovered the color’s effect on users: complacency, and great susceptibility to suggestion. All secretly developed by governmental entities.
Of course, anyone who learned about this read it through a screen.
And they couldn’t bother to complain.
