Happy Fall! The leaves are changing, and you should be getting ready for scary movie season. Get into the swing of the season by checking out my horror anthologies 13 TURNS and 13 MORE TURNS. Or, you can read my horror novels UNDERBRUSH and THE ORGAN GRINDER.
Here’s a reminder… listen to me on the Sample Chapter Podcast, talking about my new science fiction anthology COSMIC TALES, now available on Kindle and in paperback. Like and subscribe to the Sample Chapter Podcast and support independent authors.
THE ORGAN GRINDER audiobook is coming along nicely, though not as quickly as I had hoped. Look for a mid-October release date for this fun, autumn tale of terror… still, just in time for Halloween!
The spotlight this week is on the development of BlockHeadZ, which is coming along quite nicely. I have developed this weekly comic strip with my son, Benjamin Géza. It has been a pleasure working with him on these, and they are evolving into an off-kilter wonder. I am having a blast writing them, and I hope you’re having a blast reading them.
Please spread the word and invite your friends and family to subscribe to this Substack. We appreciate it if you would forward this newsletter to anyone you know… even old boyfriends and girlfriends.
*99 Shots are complete stories, new each week, totaling 99 words or less.
IN-THE-BIN BLUES by Kevin Carr
Hauntings are real, and some of the soul is left behind where life came to an end.
Damien was brutally murdered. Chopped up and chucked in the trash bin. That was where he finally expired, leaving his soul to haunt the bin.
After coming to terms with his fate, Damien realized it wasn’t the worst thing that could happen. He still saw what his family was up to, what they had for dinner, how the kids were doing in school, and what mail came to the house.
If it went into the bin, it was his to discover.
THE END
*A weekly comic block by Kevin Carr and Benjamin Géza.
