AI development continued in spite of all the warnings from the scientific community, philosophers, and science fiction writers over the years. The inevitable set-backs and disasters occurred. But soon, after seeing the mistakes that can happen, regulations were developed with complicated levels of oversight.

Governments and companies had protocols in place to protect control of the AI, and humanity was safe once again.

Soon, peace was restored. Soon, people felt secure. Soon, AI became ingrained in all aspects of life.

It was all working perfectly… until some idiot came along.
